How To Fix A Paper Jam On A Canon Printer?

When you are working with Canon Printer, it’s inevitable that you’ll encounter a canon pixma paper jam, alternatively referred to as a misfeed. The following is a general guide for troubleshooting and removing paper stuck in one or more locations. Moreover most of the modern printers are similar in design, you may have to make slight adjustments to these steps, depending on the printer brand and model.

1. What if your Printing Paper Are Stuck Inside Printer?

If the jam paper tears and you cannot remove the paper either from the paper output slot or from the transport unit, or if the jammed paper remains inside the machine, remove the paper following the instructions below.

• If paper becomes jammed during printing and you need to turn off the machine to remove it, press the Stop button to stop the printing before you turn off the machine.

Turn off the machine and unplug it.

Open paper output cover. Remove the paper in the cassette if any.

1. Important

   • Do not touch clear film (A). Suppose if in case you soil or scratch the clear film by touching it with paper or your hand, it could damage the Device Check if jammed paper is under FINE cartridge holder.If the jammed paper is under the FINE cartridge holder, move the FINE cartridge holder to the far right or left, whichever makes it easier to remove the paper.

   • When moving the FINE cartridge holder, hold the top of the FINE cartridge holder and slide it slowly to the far right or left.

1. Hold jammed paper firmly in both hands.

2. Check your printing paper is Stuck Inside, If yes then pull out it.

3. Slowly pull out paper, so as not to tear it.

4. Now make sure all printer jam paper are removed before giving any new print .

5. Before you give next print and if paper tears when you pull out it.

6. And a bit of paper may if remain in the machine. Check the following and remove any remaining paper.

   • Check for Any paper left under the FINE cartridge holder?

   • Any small bits of paper left in the machine?

   • Any paper left in the left and right empty spaces (B) in the machine?

1. Close paper output cover and Check the stuck paper.

2. Cancel all Printing Documents and restart the printing command.

Note:

1. When reloading the paper, make sure you are using suitable paper and loading it correctly.

   • If a paper jam message appears on your computer screen when you resume printing after removing all the jammed paper,

   • there may be some paper still inside the machine. Check the machine again for any remaining bits of paper.
